Security
was plentiful -- both inside and out. An officer out front
was shouting at us that all bags were to be checked. No
cell phones, no pagers, no cameras of any kind would be
permitted inside. Okay then.
Since
copies of Wahol's pictures can be found all over the intenet,
we'll present some samples of items that were in the show
-- which spans everything from his early sketches, to
a phase where he used gold leaf, to the portrait series,
and even some films. We
opted to not take the additional cost audio tour, and
just take it at our own pace.
Dianne
and I have a working knowledge of Andy Warhol, who became
famous during the Pop Art movement of the 60's, as an
artist, and then as a Celebrity hobnobber and party-goer
-- and then as a celebrity himself. His silk-screened
portraits of Hollywood stars and other famous people,
using bold and bizarre colors would be what I would consider
his most famous work. In fact, our Museum Madness logo
is a tribute to the influences of Andy Warhol.
