Pixar Animation Studios really knows how to craft an animated movie. Their track record is an embarrassment of riches.

From 'Toy Story' to 'Finding Nemo' to 'The Incredibles' - they just keep getting better and better. 'Wall-E,' Pixar's newest movie, is truly about as good as it gets.

Beautifully illustrated and animated. Well-developed characters who practically jump off the screen. A terrific, well-told story with some nice twists and surprises. It's sweet and funny and silly and really, really good.

Director Andrew Stanton has put together another Pixar masterpiece.

Wall-E is a robot, living 700 years in the future, who works alone making building blocks from scraps of metal, concrete and other garbage. Toiling away by day, befriended only by a cockroach in his makeshift apartment, Wall-E's world suddenly changes when a visitor from another world lands in a spaceship.

Eve [lower right] is another kind of robot. Where Wall-E is boxy and rigid and built for utilitarian usage, Eve is white, smooth and iPod-like. She flies around in swift bursts of energy, with cute little wings. Wall-E is smitten.

Honestly, I'm not sure what more I want to write. I don't want to spoil anything.

What happens next is so clever, so charming, so well-crafted, and so much fun, I would recommend that you just go see it before any more scenes are revealed on commercials or talk shows or Ebert and Roeper.

If ever there was a 'must see' movie, 'Wall-E' is it. -- Rated G and is perfectly suited for the whole family.

'Wall-E.' -- one of the best animated movies I've ever seen. Maybe even one of the best movies - period.

PS: At the showing of 'Wall-E' they showed a new Pixar animated short called 'Presto.' A fantastic throwback to the old animated shorts that Chuck Jones and Tex Avery worked on. Truly hilarious.

Also, the preview for Walt Disney Pictures upcoming 'Bolt' looked fun too. Lots of laughter from the audience on that one.

I really liked 'Wall-E.' It was really, really cute. But, I did lose interest toward the middle for a little while. However, the animation is fantastic and I absolutely LOVED the whole 'modern love story.' Eve was my favorite character -- I thought she was even slightly more real than Wall-E [who I so wish was my boyfriend!]. I would recommend 'Wall-E' to everyone and anyone -- no question.

What made Wall-E so real, for me is that we saw him doing everyday things. They made him seem human. Working, going home alone, watching movies by himself. It made me really care about him. Plus, the overall theme of the environment, and current political themes, made it seem topical. Great movie.
