Here
you can see several levels of the on-going work.
The
purple transfer of the Thermofax, the finished line work, and
then some of those blue lines, which are literally drawn on using
a felt tip pen. These become guidelines to halp Andy know where
to draw lines, and where to leave 'negative space' for smoke,
and background effects.
The tattoo
work has to heal between each session. Anywhere between 1-3 weeks.
So, after
the initial line work healed, Andy started on one of the Hitchhiking
ghosts. This was really just the first pass, as he has added a
few more layers of black, grey and white to this guy since this
time.
You
can see the 'chicken scratch' line work and then just one Hitchhiking
ghost in the middle of it all -- we're on our way!
The
level of detail is incredible.

This
was just the first pass. Since this was done, we've done two more
layers of whites, greys and blacks on this guy.
